Location: City of Albany
Job Title: Financial Analyst / Budget Analyst
Project: SA.144 – Finance (NEIS Transformation Project)
Location: Albany, NY (Initial 2 weeks Onsite, then Hybrid – 50/50)
The Financial Analyst/Budget Analyst will support NYSERDA’s Finance team with day-to-day, quarterly, and annual accounting and budgeting activities. This role focuses on budget setup, grant and fund-based accounting, financial reporting, and system infrastructure support within NEIS (Client Internal tool). The analyst will assist with journal entries, general and subsidiary ledger reconciliations, and multi-year financial planning based on historical data.
Required Skills
- 3+ years Financial/Budget Analyst or Accounting experience
- Strong finance & accounting knowledge
- Advanced Excel (Pivots, VLOOKUP) and O365
- GL & subsidiary ledger reconciliations
- Journal entries and close processes
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Desired Skills
- Fund-based accounting
- People Soft / Oracle / NEIS experience
- Public-sector or state agency background
