This role will play a critical part in assessing and mitigating environmental and engineering risks associated with our commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring sound lending practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Job SummaryThe Environmental and Engineering Risk Manager will be responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, and management of environmental (e.g., contamination, regulatory compliance) and engineering (e.g., structural integrity, property condition) risks related to commercial real estate transactions and existing portfolio assets. This role involves conducting due diligence, reviewing third-party reports, providing expert advice to internal stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to Citi's risk policies and industry best practices.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering, and commercial real estate finance.
- Risk Assessment and Due Diligence:
- Perform comprehensive environmental and engineering risk assessments for new commercial real estate loans, acquisitions, and portfolio assets.
- Review and analyze Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), seismic reports, geotechnical reports, and other relevant third‑party technical reports.
