Travel: 25–50% (mostly regional)
Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000 (based on experience)
About the RoleWe are looking for a motivated Technical Sales Engineer who can connect customers with manufacturing solutions. This person will work closely with the sales team, customers, and manufacturing/engineering teams to identify new business opportunities and provide technical guidance on custom projects. You will help grow the client base, support customers with tailored solutions, and ensure projects move smoothly from concept to production.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, especially custom polymer solutions.
- Present and explain manufacturing capabilities and technical features to potential customers.
- Build strong relationships with clients to drive sales and ensure long-term satisfaction.
- Travel to customer sites to provide hands‑on support and service.
- Work with Engineering to create accurate pricing, quotes, and proposals.
- Meet or exceed sales goals and adjust strategies as needed.
- Manage projects effectively while coordinating with multiple departments.
- Understand manufacturing processes and potential risks, and help prevent project challenges.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in project engineering and/or technical sales.
- Experience in customer‑facing roles.
- Knowledge of plastics manufacturing, mold fabrication, or polymer products is a strong plus.
- Understanding of material flow and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, MS Project; design software is a plus).
- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Analytical thinker with good judgment.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working on multiple projects at once.
- Ability to lift to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility.
- Ability to bend, reach, climb, and use hands for handling materials.
