Role description:
DPS Advance Technology Group is looking for experienced Process Engineer to join our growing A/E design team in Albany, NY. In this role you will be responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client's needs.
Successful candidates will have 8+ years' experience designing and overseeing projects for chemical process systems, work with multi-disciplined design teams, project managers, and construction management personnel.
Proven success working for A/E or EPCM consultancy companies in a similar role, supporting projects related to clean rooms, laboratories, semiconductor fab, data center, solar manufacturing, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable.
This position is preferred for a local candidate in the Albany, NY metro area. Remote candidates with direct Advance Technology experience in Semiconductor industries can be considered. Relocation within the United States may be available for selected candidate.
Role accountabilities:
* Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's), process/piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&'s), data sheets, and develop/edit specifications for equipment.
* Develop calculations for mass balances, utility loads and equipment sizing etc.
* Interact with engineering and architectural disciplines to direct physical layout of systems.
* Coordinate process system interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
* Verify that the design is consistent with industry-accepted practice, leading-edge technologies and special client-preferred features.
* Perform self QA/QC on deliverables, as well as on deliverables by other engineers.
* Complete process engineering studies and reports.
* Participate in Services During Construction activities including reviewing RFI's, submittals, responding to design change notices, issuing field change bulletins, attending site walks and issuing field observation reports, developing operational and functional acceptance tests, developing record drawings and producing other system documentation.
* Understand and work within the scope, schedule, deliverables, and hours budgeted for assigned tasks.
* Support, by active participation, corporate and discipline-specific procedures and policies
* Regularly collaborate with global and US engineering counterparts with respect to technology advancements, lessons learned, and design techniques and calculations.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designer on basic engineering applications and principals.
* Produce and/or review 2D and 3D design drawings for high technology facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications, and procedures.
* Participate in multi-discipline coordination & clash checking efforts.
* Site surveys of existing services to ascertain "as-built" conditions.
* Safety oriented both in office, during travel, and on project sites.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications &
Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline, with 8+ years' design / consulting experience.
* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including a proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Bluebeam, as well as Process Engineering specific analysis software. Experience utilizing 2D/3D CADD (AutoCAD and REVIT) software is highly desirable.
* Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with people at all levels within the organization, client and project partners. Attend and participate in proposal meetings and business development activities as requested.
* Proven ability of leading junior engineers, designers, and project engineering teams of various sizes is a must. Additionally, must be able to plan and prioritize work activities, resource allocation, possess strong time management skills, and set goals and objectives for self and team.
* Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Previous experience supporting industrial facilities projects is preferred.
* Local candidates preferred. Will entertain relocation for candidates with directly related experience.
* Ability to provide valid work authorization for US employment.
