Overview
The Project Manager, Access Management is an individual contributor role within a small team that works with carrier vendor partners to obtain off-net connectivity solutions and pricing, and to place and manage orders for 3rd party Lit Circuits, Dark Fiber, Cross Connects and Colocation facilities throughout the lifecycle.
The Project Manager works closely with the Sales and Sales Engineering teams to provide off-net solutions and associated pricing to support sales, help close deals and drive increased top-line revenue. Similarly, the Project Manager communicates and coordinates with the Service Delivery team to deliver 3rd party facilities on time and accurately.
Working under the guidance of the Manager, Access Management, the Project Manager contributes to a culture of continual process assessment and improvement, takes responsibility for assigned work and takes all necessary actions to deliver commitments on time, including escalating issues internally and externally as required.

- Work with multiple telecom vendor partners to obtain competitive product and pricing information within established SLAs for specific locations to complete Quoting requests from Sales Engineering. Quoted products include, but are not limited to, Dark Fiber, Ethernet, DIA and Cloud Services. The Project Manager will use various methods to obtain quotes, including email, vendor portals/systems and established rate cards and building lists.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency of quoting information within established standards and in accordance with current processes.
- Work cooperatively with Sales and Sales Engineering teams to provide additional support for large, complex multi-location opportunities.
- Work with management as requested to help identify, design and implement Quoting process improvement, automation and tools where possible.
- Attend project kickoff calls and/or review kickoff documentation as assigned by the Service Delivery team. Follow up as required.
- Work with multiple telecom vendors using a combination of email and vendor portals/systems to place orders for products including, but not limited to Cross-Connects, Dark Fiber, Ethernet (EPL and EvPL), DIA, Cloud Services and Broadband.
- Manage all order types – New, Change, Replace and Disconnect.
- Take full responsibility for assigned work and take all necessary actions to deliver commitments on time, including escalating delays internally and externally as required.
- Work cooperatively with Service Delivery for joint management of large, complex multi-location projects.
- Work with management as requested to help identify, design and implement Ordering process improvement, automation and tools where possible
- Develop and maintain day-to-day working relationships with domestic and international telecom partner carriers.
- Ensure orders are signed at the correct manager approval levels. Ensure pricing and terms are correct, and that they align with the proper Master Service Agreement where applicable.
- Work with management to assist with contract negotiations, renewals and carrier performance reviews and secure the best pricing and service agreements.
- Organize and manage vendor records for all orders and associated communications.
- Track portability data and use portability efficiently to reduce unnecessary costs.
- Associate’s degree in business, Telecommunications, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in carrier/vendor management, quoting, operations, procurement, or telecom contract negotiations.
- Strong understanding of telecom networks, carrier services, ordering systems, ASRs, LSRs.
- Proven track record in managing vendor quotes and orders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Ethernet EVPL, EPL, dark fiber, cross-connects, colocation space/power and cloud-based connectivity solutions.
