Overview
The Chief Engineer will lead engineering operations across 20 regional facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of all building systems. This hybrid role combines hands-on fieldwork, administrative oversight, and direct client interaction.
Responsibilities- Oversee HVAC, plumbing, boilers, pumps, valves, and mechanical systems
- Ensure 100% uptime of critical building systems
- Supervise, train, and manage engineering and maintenance staff
- Manage preventive maintenance programs and contractor activities
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and CFWA requirements
- Maintain documentation, inventory, purchase orders, and CMMS records
- Act as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of facilities or building engineering experience
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong HVAC and plumbing background (electrical knowledge required)
- Universal CFC Certification and Operating Engineers License (or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
- High Pressure Operator Engineer License
- Experience in critical or mission-critical facilities
- Reliability-based maintenance and continuous improvement experience
- Energy management or sustainability background
