Position summary: Responsible for engineering design using general engineering principles to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision.
Compensation: $45.00 – $60.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.

- Analyze project requirements and information from alternative studies to develop accurate reports for submittal.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects and tasks.
- Perform design computations.
- Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
- Develop or review construction cost estimates.
- Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Attend meetings with clients and assist with taking meeting minutes.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and understand how they fit into the project and design.
- Conduct quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to Design Engineers within the department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
- 5–10 years’ experience in a specialized discipline.
- Proficient in Bentley Micro Station and Open Roads.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Professional Engineer License (preferred).
- Experience working with local clients at the county and state level.
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time, largely sedentary but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Field work is required on occasion, which may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, and some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
