Bridge Project Engineer (Part-Time) – Fisher Associates – Rochester, NY
Fisher Associates is actively seeking a Bridge Project Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to lead bridge design, structural analysis, inspection, and load rating of transportation infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a Civil or Structural Engineer looking to make a meaningful impact on public infrastructure.
- Lead bridge design, including load rating, structural analysis, and foundation design.
- Develop design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridge and transportation structures.
- Maintain accurate records of project details, including design documents, progress reports, and budget information.
- Participate in project planning meetings, coordinating tasks to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Support project managers with schedules, documentation, and presentations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes, design standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct field inspections and prepare detailed bridge and culvert inspection reports.
- Provide technical support during construction: respond to RFIs, conduct site visits, and ensure design integrity.
- Collaborate with internal teams, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Mentor junior staff and support their technical development.
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree preferred.
- Over 10 years of transportation experience, with structures/bridge design experience preferred.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) or ability to obtain it.
- Experience with Micro Station, STAAD, Bridge Design Software programs preferred.
- Demonstrated high-quality work and ability to problem-solve using critical thinking and sound judgment.

Salary Range $100,000–$130,000 annually
