Jacobs is looking for a seasoned Engineering professional to join our Data Center Design team. This role is open across the United States.

As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer you will:

• Accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, gaining familiarity with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
• Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff and discipline leads.
• Design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver world‑class solutions for new facilities.
• Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document and model design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
• Produce control system designs and develop options and optimizations for process control, instrumentation, and automation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience working with Instrumentation and Control.
• Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.

• Engineer in Training (EIT).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas.
• Quick learner, driven to broaden knowledge base.
• Collaboration ability in multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Passion for buildings and construction.
• Experience mentoring juniors or leading small teams.
• Experience with Data Center Design.
