About the Role

Fisher Associates is hiring a Transportation Highway Group Manager, an experienced Civil Engineer to lead the technical design of impactful highway and roadway projects across Upstate New York. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver transportation projects that improve mobility, safety, and quality of life in local communities.

  • Oversee the design and execution of highway engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Serve as a technical lead, guiding the team on best practices, decisions, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes and conduct technical audits to ensure high standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation, adequate staffing, and utilization to meet project and team goals.
  • Assist in recruiting top engineering talent who align with the team’s technical excellence and company culture.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance.
  • Stay current with transportation design trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into project solutions.
  • Contribute to the organization’s technical strategy and help forecast future technical needs.
Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • 8–15 years of experience in civil transportation engineering
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it
  • Prior staff management preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
    Micro Station preferred
  • Familiarity with NYDOT design standards preferred

  • Proven ability to deliver quality work through critical thinking, problem solving, and sound judgment

Salary Range

$110,000–$170,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors. The salary range excludes monetary value of benefits.
