Overview
Senior Civil Design Engineer (Land Development) | Albany, NY | Bohler
This role involves taking ownership of design challenges across site design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting. You will be deeply involved in all aspects of site design, collaborate with senior engineers and project leaders, and help ensure design quality, constructability, and compliance.
What You’ll Do- Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
- Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
- Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
- Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
- 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
- Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.

Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience. The base pay range for this role is $80,000 – $95,000 per year.
