Special Education Secretary (Secretary I)
Capital Region BOCES provides both educational programs and educational support services to area students. We are preparing students & educators for success, and we employ hundreds of individuals who support that mission. Our Special Education division provides a comprehensive array of programs to meet the instructional needs of students with exceptionalities who are not able to be educated in their home districts.
Our team ensures that educational programs are administered and schools run efficiently and effectively so our kids receive a world‑class education. They are guided by 5 commitments that support their mission and purpose—Service, Value, Excellence, Improvement and Leadership.
- You will support the Deputy Director as they manage and supervise itinerant employees serving students in our component school districts.
- You will review and track intake documentation for completeness, request information from school districts when needed and maintain detailed files.
- You will accurately enter special education related data into the appropriate systems to produce accurate reports geared to improve our services for our students.
- You will assist our division staff by monitoring and tracking various professional development activities in real time to ensure that accurate credit is awarded.
- You will be an important resource for school districts and parents of students participating in our programs.
