Job Overview

The Department of Psychology within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Albany is inviting applications for a Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Growth plus (PRODiG+) Postdoctoral Fellow in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. The position is a 12‑month appointment with a possible five‑year extension and may lead to a tenure‑track faculty position. Fellows will work closely with faculty mentors and collaborate across the department and university to develop an independent research program.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Research: Fellows will conduct high‑impact research in Industrial and Organizational Psychology under faculty mentorship, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, present at national and international conferences, and develop research grant proposals.
  • Teaching: Fellows will assist introductory and upper‑level courses and contribute to graduate seminars in the MA and PhD Industrial‑Organizational Psychology programs.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Industrial‑Organizational Psychology, Management, Organizational Behavior, or a related field from an accredited institution completed prior to start date.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Established record of journal publications and/or conference presentations at national or international conferences.
  • Experience with diverse student populations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through scholarly work, volunteer service, or related experience with underserved populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.
  • Applicants from a low‑income background, first‑generation college students, veterans, or Ameri Corps alumni.
Working Environment
  • Typical office, classroom, and research lab environments.
