ABC News is looking for a Reporter to join our Great Southern WA team. In this role, you will create compelling multi-platform content that reflects the diversity of the region and contributes to the ABC’s trusted news coverage nationally. Based in our Albany bureau, you’ll collaborate with a supportive and experienced team committed to delivering high-impact journalism.

• Produce news bulletins, Q&As, interviews and packages across all platforms, including breaking news.
• Pitch, plan and create original story ideas that engage both local and national audiences.
• Actively engage with communities to source authentic and diverse content.
• Contribute to local emergency coverage plans and liaise with stakeholders as required.
• Identify regional content opportunities to be shared across ABC programs and platforms.

You are an accomplished storyteller with strong editorial judgement and a passion for serving regional communities.

• Demonstrated experience in content creation and live broadcast presentation.
• Strong editorial, research and analytical skills.
• A deep understanding of local issues and an ability to connect with diverse communities.

• 15.4% ABC Nominated Super.
