Construction Project Engineer

Canandaigua, NY

Based on experience; will be discussed with the manager during the interview.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.

• Oversee construction management of ongoing construction projects and renovations.
• Review contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan.
• Conduct and oversee three‑phase inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure compliance with contract and specifications.
• Review design, comment logging, and back‑checking for Design‑Build projects.
• Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.
• Review and comment on the accuracy of construction contractor’s requests for payment.
• Review and acknowledge daily reports, including verification of the project schedule by indicating activities worked on that day and those behind schedule.
• Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes of meetings and conferences, payments, updated progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, field changes.
• Review and process Requests for Information (RFI) and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other locally generated documents developed during construction.
• Support construction contract modifications.
• Perform critical path schedule review.

• 7+ years of engineering and construction management experience.
• Experience with construction administration and capability to handle large projects.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
• US Army Corps of Engineers or other federal project experience, preferred.
• Experience with Resident Management System (RMS), preferred.
• Experience reading construction plans and specifications.
• Good written communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
