Job Summary
The Sales Manager will oversee the sales strategy, team performance, and revenue growth for our Albany-based operations. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, this executive-level role involves developing and executing sales plans for office technology products and services, building key client relationships, and driving a high-performing sales team to exceed targets. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep experience in B2B sales within the office equipment or technology industries.
This position requires a blend of hands-on leadership, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for delivering value through technology solutions.
- Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve annual revenue goals, focusing on upselling multifunction devices, managed print services, and IT integration solutions to existing and prospective clients in the Albany metro area and surrounding regions.
- Lead and Mentor Sales Team: Manage a team of 5-8 Sales Consultants of various experience levels, providing coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Prospect and Close Major Deals: Identify high-value opportunities through networking, trade shows (e.g., local business expos), and CRM tools; lead negotiations and close contracts with C-suite executives and business owners of small to medium sized business.
- Ensure Customer Success: Collaborate with service and support teams to deliver seamless post-sale implementation and deliver world-class customer service.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in B2B sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the office technology, IT Solutions, or managed services industry. Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas.
- Skills: Expertise in CRM software and office technology products (printers, scanners, IT Solutions, document management).
- Other: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and sales forecasting tools. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, with experience presenting to executive audiences. Personal attributes: results-oriented leader with a hunter mentality, high emotional intelligence for team motivation, and a collaborative spirit to align sales with company-wide goals.
