Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Albany, New York. This role involves managing critical accounting functions, including month-end close processes and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and demonstrate expertise in general ledger activities.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and oversee month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to uphold financial accuracy.

- Create and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

- Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances.

- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and improve accounting procedures.

- Assist in audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close procedures and general accounting processes.

- Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and preparing journal entries.

- Strong skills in account reconciliation and identifying discrepancies.

- Experience in performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail.

- Knowledge of financial reporting standards and best practices.

- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with teams.
