Southway is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing Branch. The following are a list of requirements;

Position: CDL Truck Driver

Summary:

Candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience. You must be able to pass a background check and drug test. All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of their activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.

• Must have a current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License with no restrictions (no automatic endorsement).
• 2-3 years of commercial driving experience

• Ability to interpret, read manuals, and write reports in English.
• Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
• Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to provide proper hand signals to crane and truck operators.
• Ability to verbally communicate safety issues to customers and other workers on location before and during job tasks.
• Ability to work at heights and use all PPE required for fall protection correctly.
• Ability to employ physiological movements and actions associated with heavy work.
• Bending, stooping, lifting, seeing, hearing, walking, ability to lift 75 lbs., twisting, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling, sitting and standing.
• Eyesight sufficient for operating a motor vehicle, inspection of equipment, and completion paperwork.
• Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with customers and coworkers.
• Other duties as assigned.
