Job SummaryThe Service Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains small engines used in various equipment like lawnmowers, chainsaws, and recreational vehicles. They perform routine maintenance and complex overhauls, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and interact with customers to explain repairs and maintenance.
Responsibilities- Identify issues with small engines, including mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tune‑ups, and component adjustments.
- Disassemble engines, inspect parts for wear or damage, and reassemble engines with new or repaired components.
- Order and manage replacement parts, keeping records of repairs, time spent, and parts used.
- Communicate with customers about the issues with their equipment, explain the repair process, and provide instructions for maintenance.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED. 1 year of experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing small engines, power and hand tools, and related equipment common to the landscape construction and maintenance trade, including hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
Proposed SalarySalary is commensurate with training and experience.

- Knowledge of principles and techniques in the repair and upkeep of engines, air tools, and air wrenches.
- Knowledge of general tools to perform everyday tasks and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Skilled in customer service.
- Skilled in time management.
- Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Ability to operate all types of equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively to ensure tasks are completed within a certain timeline.
- Ability to facilitate daily tasks and prioritize work orders.
