Mechanic III
The Dougherty County Public Works department is hiring for a Mechanic III. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance and repairs on all county vehicles and equipment.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Responsibilities:Education And Experience Requirements:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
• Performs heavy work that involves constantly lifting, shoveling, and carrying 35 to 50 pounds on a regular and recurring basis and exerting 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
• Involves routine and frequent exposure to:
Dusts and pollen.
Wet or humid conditions.
Fumes and/or noxious odors.
Moving machinery.
Heights.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state Class B driver’s license with Hazardous Material Endorsement (HME) or be able to obtain endorsement within the first six (6) months of employment.
