Job SummaryThe Police Officer provides campus security by patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and access points, and responding to calls involving parking, fire, and traffic complaints. The role ensures the safety and well‑being of all personnel and visitors in the campus community and requires flexible shifts and hours.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 20 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Completed certification by the Georgia Peace Officers' Standard and Training Council.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with a law enforcement or public safety agency helpful.
$50,000.00
Abilities- Perform professional work in a 24‑hour operation, including weekends, holidays, and any weather conditions.
- Express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Write comprehensive reports outlining observations and activities during the assigned shift.
- Use telephone, radio, and computer equipment.
- Maintain a positive attitude when working with supervisors, coworkers, and members of the campus community to deliver service‑oriented relationships.
- Analytical decision‑making skills to identify problems, weigh solutions, and recognize alternatives independently and quickly.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with the public.
- Patrol the campus on foot or in a patrol car to preserve law and order.
- Answer calls and requests involving fire, traffic, or other accidents, robberies, and misdemeanors and take necessary police action.
- Conduct investigations of criminal activities, including evidence collection, questioning principals and witnesses, case preparation, and testifying in court. Investigate traffic accidents and perform related traffic control functions.
- Recover stolen property.
- Provide various types of public service and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Perform other job‑related duties as required.
