Operations Manager
Responsible for providing leadership for manufacturing areas, managing and developing people, promoting effective cost management, meeting environmental, health, and safety responsibilities, maintaining positive community relations, meeting business commitments, and operating in the safest, most cost‑effective manner.
Responsibilities- Role model for safety expectations and zero incident culture. Ensure that employees understand and comply with all site and corporate HSES regulations and guidelines.
- Member of the site leadership team requiring strong cross‑functional working relationships to effectively set the site culture, be a role model for correct principles and behaviors, and develop, communicate, and implement strategies to meet business goals.
- Provide leadership, managerial oversight and technical support to the production area.
- Work directly with and be responsible for the management of production supervisors, engineers, team leaders, coordinators, and operators.
- Responsible for overall performance of the production departments; safety focus, production schedule, quality requirements, and budget while continuously improving the department’s capabilities and effectiveness.
- Identify and implement operational excellence principles within the production department.
- Identify and implement process improvement and cost optimisation efforts.
- Identify and support capital project needs.
- Provide leadership for effectively resolving customer complaints and implementing corrective actions.
- Support development, communication, and execution of HSES, Maintenance, Quality, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Coordinate with business partners to develop, communicate and implement plans to meet short and long‑term business needs.
- Coordinate with business partners for raw material supply and production planning.
- Participate in incident investigations and assist in development and initiation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) for new and existing processes.
- Ensure compliance with the current ISO 9001 standards.
- Review applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on a regular frequency.
- Interview, hire, promote production employees, including assisting with the onboarding process of new hires.
- Provide and keep current training and certification of all employees in all production areas.
- Conduct annual reviews for staff performance.
- Interact professionally with production personnel and all.
