Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- 0 - 1 year Central Supply Experience (Preferred)
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) must be obtained within 12 months of hire (Required)
- Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
- Understands equipment operation.
- Maintains equipment in working order.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems.
- Uses technology to increase productivity.
- Adapts to new technology.
- Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
- Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
- Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users.
- Uses correct terminology.
- Conforms to required style and format.
- Cleans and decontaminates patient equipment.
- Receives and cleans patient equipment.
- Test equipment to make sure it is working properly.
- Report defective equipment to supervisor.
- Clean, decontaminate and stock all specialty carts.
- Receives and cleans specialty cart.
- Check cart for missing supplies and apply patient charges.
- Restock carts with appropriate supplies.
- Performs Biological Testing.
- Biological testing on each steam sterilizers daily and with each that contains implants.
- Biological testing on each sterrad sterilizer daily.
- Biological testing on ETO machine.
- Documentation of all biological testing performed on each sterilizer.
- Cleaning of GI scopes, Bronchoscopes, etc.
- Receives, leak test, and decontaminate flexible scopes.
- Cleans scopes according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Process scope using AER or Medtricide soaking solution.
- Assemble case cart for operating room procedures.
- Read case cart pick list.
- Prepare case cart for the next day schedule and any add on case.
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
