Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM

• Every other weekend requirement

• Must work holidays and days around holidays as needed

• 2 years stepdown experience in acute care setting required without exception

• Must live 75+ miles from facility (strict radius rule with driver's license verification required)

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred

• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided

• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 with 44-bed unit capacity

• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring system

• Experience with cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin

• Work with BiPap, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high flow oxygen (no full ventilators)

• May float to ICU for stepdown patients or assist with tasks if ICU experience available

• Fast-paced environment with 12-16 patient admissions/discharges per shift on busy days

• Use MEDITECH charting system

• Strict dress code:
Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair color, no artificial nails, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos

• Care for post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients including CABG, thoracotomy, carotid procedures

• Manage patients with CHF, atrial fibrillation, chest tubes, pacemaker wires, and various cardiac conditions

This healthcare facility features a specialized 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit with semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive cardiovascular care. The facility maintains 24/7 coverage with hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services, along with specialized PICC and IV teams. The cardiac stepdown unit is divided into two sections focusing on different levels of cardiac care, from major cardiovascular surgery recovery to smaller procedures and heart failure management, ensuring patients receive appropriate specialized care throughout their recovery.

Adex Job . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
