JOB SUMMARY

The Wells Support Technician is responsible for supporting and executing all phases of well support and wireline operations, including slickline, electric line, coiled tubing, fracturing, and well stimulation activities. This position performs a wide range of construction and maintenance tasks such as building hard line, setting up and rigging down tanks, chokes, valves, manifolds, and wellhead attachments, as well as house removal and installation.

Additional responsibilities include pressure testing and the installation and removal of blinds and piping.

The Wells Support Technician will also operate and drive heavy equipment, including vacuum trucks, tankers, super suckers, and boom trucks.

This position requires obtaining a Class A CDL with both Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 18 months of hire, as well as the ability to work in both the Alpine and Kuparuk fields as operational needs dictate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Must be familiar with hardline set ups, wire line and coiled tubing rig ups, tanks and consequent monitoring of fluid levels and must be familiar with fluid transfer and manifesting procedures.

  • Must have experience with heavy equipment support to include rigging and securing loads, triplex pumps, diaphragm pumps.

  • Able to perform work in cold and extreme weather conditions.

  • Able to learn to operate vac trucks, tankers, super suckers, boom truck and driving on ice roads and ice covered gravel pads.

  • Must be familiar with wells, wire line, downhole pumping and drilling fluid support loading and unloading liquids to include water, seawater, brine, mud, diesel and crude oil under fluid transfer guidelines and procedures.

  • Monitor chokes, tanks, gauges on flow back and coil tubing rig ups.

  • Perform pressure testing of hard line, pipe systems, freeze protection, and provide general support of well head work using hand tools, wrenches, and various electric and pneumatic tools.

  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.

  • A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.

  • The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 2x2 rotation in the Alpine and/or Kuparuk oilfields is required.

  • At least three (3) years of experience as a Wells Support Technician on the North Slope is required.

  • The ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with both Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) and Tanker endorsements as well as a DOT Medical Card within 18 months of hire is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bed Truck Winching experience is preferred.

  • An NCCCO small hydraulic crane/boom-truck certification is preferred.
