Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Project Foreman (or his/her designee) perform general labor on construction sites to include material handling, specialty trades support, operating tools and light equipment. Successful candidate will be reliable, experienced in working around construction sites, and capable of working independently as well as in a team environment in a safe and productive manner.
Duties/Responsibilities- Site preparation including clearing and preparing the area for construction
- Perform setup at the job site. Assist with demolition and removal of buildings, equipment, and debris
- Perform daily cleanup including removing debris and unused materials
- Material handling including loading, unloading and moving supplies
- Operating hand tools and power tools
- Provide support as needed for specialty trades
- Follow established safety rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow instructions from supervisors
- Other duties as assigned
- Prior experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of job construction site safety as well as the ability to complete a company specific online safety orientation
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Follow safety regulations and company safety policies and procedures
- Ability to follow oral or written instructions
- Valid Alaska driver's license preferred
- Required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
- Speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and co‑workers
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 75lbs, and occasionally lift and/or more 75‑100lbs
- Vision requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
