Summary
A Retail Cashier is responsible for maintaining Guest Service as per company standards, generating sales, housekeeping, re-stocking, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a guest-friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service.
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.
- Communicate Guest requests to management.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
- Prolonged periods of standing, with climbing stairs multiple times a day.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
- Ability to communicate in English to our associates and guests.
- Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Ability to work in an unheated building.
- Willing to live in a remote, rural community.
- Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting.
- Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather.
- In season, the hours can be extended.
