The basic duties of the Food & Beverage Supervisor include arriving on time in the uniform provided, and overseeing the daily operations of the assigned F&B venue to ensure goals and objectives of the department are achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles.
- Oversee the schedule and work of assigned staff in the venue as assigned.
- Help management organize daily activities related to food production and operations ensuring high quality and excellent service.
- Serve on the line as a cook or a bartender, cashier, or food runner as needed to allow breaks.
- Work with management in tracking waste and end‑of‑month inventories.
- Assist with maintaining ISP operations manual and department policies for employees.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal agencies pertaining to food and alcohol sales.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Excellent managerial and supervisory skills. Extensive knowledge of food & beverage operations management is a plus. Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set goals. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or culinary management, or related work experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking over 5 miles a day.
- Able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Willing to live in a remote, rural community.
- A valid driver’s license is a plus.
- Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting.
- Able to walk on gravel roads in inclement weather.
