Restaurant Server - Nullagvik Hotel

Overview

The Hotel Food Server is an essential part of the Restaurant. The Server is responsible to seat, greet and take orders from guests, and to help ensure guests have a memorable and unique culinary experience. The Server should feel confident making recommendations when asked and responsibly communicating any food allergies or special nutritional requests to the kitchen staff.

• Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
• Writes orders on a check or memorizes them.
• Relays orders to the kitchen and serves courses from the kitchen and service bars.
• Observes diners to respond to additional requests and to determine when the meal has been completed.
• Totals bills and accepts payments, or refers patrons to the Cashier.
• Brews coffee, preps and serves beverages.
• Clears and resets counters or tables at the conclusion of each course.
• May assist others in basic food production or other food service activities.
• May break down and clean service lines as well as clean a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success may be assigned.

• Some prior customer service experience or training.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
