- Support land management activities within the University of Wisconsin-Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve
- Assist with vegetation management, including invasive species monitoring, mapping, and control
- Participate in planting and seeding native species and maintaining public gathering spaces
- Care for and monitor the Preserve’s trails and fire circles
- Interact positively with Preserve visitors and establish working relationships with staff and volunteers
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a commercial pesticide applicator license within 6 months
- Must possess or be willing to obtain first aid/CPR/AED certification within 6 months
- Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record that meets UW Risk Management standards
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks in varying weather conditions
- Knowledge of ecological restoration principles and land management practices
- Experience with regional native and non-native plant identification and weed control techniques
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in land management
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to operate equipment such as brush mowers and utility vehicles
- Experience in record keeping and report development
