A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced RN to provide expert care in a high-acuity stepdown/progressive care unit in Eagle River, AK. This contract role involves working night shifts in a dynamic 19-bed unit focused on telemetry and stepdown patient care. Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver nursing care to patients in a 19-bed progressive care stepdown unit, maintaining patient ratios of approximately 4:1
* Utilize bedside monitors and electronic medical records (EPIC) effectively
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including CNA and charge nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care
* Adhere to unit-specific workflows and standards, maintaining navy-blue scrub attire
* Participate in rotating weekend shifts and work a consistent night schedule (7 PM to 7 AM)
* Complete onboarding requirements including fingerprinting for state clearance
Qualifications and
Experience:
* Active Alaska RN license at time of application; temporary licenses will not be accepted
* Minimum 1 year telemetry and 1 year stepdown nursing experience required
* Current ACLS and BLS certification
* Positive work ethic and strong communication skills
Contract Details:
* Night shifts: 7 PM to 7 AM
* Duration: 13 weeks
* No on-call requirements
* Weekend work approximately every other weekend
