Summary

This position is a skilled Production Seafood Processor responsible for operating two or more lines of production. The Meal Plant Key III residing in Trident housing will incur a co‑pay of $15 per day for room and board, for each day at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Essential Functions
  • Assist the lead in performing essential functions on two or more lines of production.
  • Assist with on‑line training of new hire processors.
  • Clean, sort, and prepare various types of seafood for processing according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Remove shells, scales, bones, and other unwanted parts from seafood products using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, processing tools, and storage areas.
  • Follow proper handling and storage procedures to prevent contamination and maintain product freshness.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals in a fast‑paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
  • Adhere to all food‑safety regulations and industry standards to ensure the production of safe and high‑quality seafood products.
  • Acquire knowledge of Trident’s environmental and safety policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities accordingly.
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before.
  • Has worked in a Key II position at a Trident location in the past year.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in food or seafood processing, or a related field.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Basic math skills to accurately weigh and measure seafood products.
  • Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Strong hygiene practices and knowledge of food‑safety regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, meet production quotas while maintaining quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork ability.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a forklift driver, crane operator, fish grader, driver, scanner, or truck driver (preferred).
Work Environment and Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather. The employee may be exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.

Physical demands include:

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands to reach and manipulate objects.
  • Frequent balance or climbing.
  • Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, or hearing.
  • Move objects up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Vision requirements: distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
