Front Desk Supervisor
Glacier Bay Lodge in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve – remote Alaska (accessible by air or sea from Juneau to Gustavus). Seasonal role for summer 2026, ideal dates May 7 – September 10, 2026. Job DescriptionLead the front desk team, overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding Lodge standards.
Job Responsibilities- Guest Services: greet guests, manage check‑in/check‑out, handle inquiries, concerns, and special requests.
- Reservation Management: process reservations, cancellations, modifications; communicate booking details, policies, and pricing.
- Administrative Duties: process payments, manage daily financial reports, maintain records, coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments.
- Promote Local Knowledge: share information about park attractions, trails, dining, activities; stay updated on events and regulations.
- Hotel Standards and Policies: ensure safety, security, and operational compliance; keep front desk area clean and professional.
- Front Desk Staff Supervision: provide leadership, guidance, training, coaching, performance feedback; monitor workflow; maintain coverage and standards.
- Experience:
prior front desk, hospitality, or customer service role; supervisory experience preferred. - Skills:
strong communication and interpersonal skills; multitask and stay organized under pressure. - Knowledge: familiarity with reservation systems, POS software, basic computer skills.
- Attributes: positive attitude, problem‑solving abilities, passion for customer service and the outdoors.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Remote or semi‑remote national park setting; standing for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Physical demands: lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, standing; may require uniforms and/or PPE.
A 50‑room lodge nestled between coastal mountains, fjords, and Alaska's Inside Passage. Only reachable by air or sea from Juneau to Gustavus, the lodge offers a remote wilderness experience amid 18 hours of summer daylight, endless recreation and sightseeing.
