Overview
The Alaska Commercial Company (ACC) invites qualified individuals to join our team as a Motorsports Technician in Kotzebue, AK. ACC is a long‑standing retailer dedicated to serving rural Alaskans and offers a supportive work culture with opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ACC’s motor sport equipment.
- Provide failure analysis, parts lists, and repair recommendations to the service advisor.
- Maintain accurate notes and parts lists to support estimate building.
- Process repairs, maintenance requests, and new unit preparations according to the service advisor’s schedule.
- Adapt to evolving processes, systems, and duties as ACC’s motorsports business evolves.
- Complete all OEM training modules within one month of release to ensure premium customer service.
- 3+ years of motor sport technician experience with OEM certification on at least one product line.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Class 5 Driver’s License.
- 2+ years in a related field or experience working on personal ATVs, Ski‑Doo, and/or water‑craft.
- Proficiency in using and supervising staff on OEM diagnostic systems.
- Strong written communication for diagnosis and routine reports.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent time management and the capability to work effectively under pressure.
- High knowledge of motorsports products such as Ski‑Do O, Honda, and Yamaha preferred.

Housing:
Company‑provided housing is intended for employees and their immediate family members only, defined as a spouse or partner and dependent children. Most units have an occupancy limit of four individuals. Exceptions will be reviewed and must be approved in advance by the Director of Operations.
Due to the remote nature of our locations, limited housing options, and restricted access to veterinary care, pets are generally discouraged. Pet requests are reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis and must be approved by the Director of Operations. In communities where pets are permitted, there is a firm limit of two pets per unit—no exceptions. Service animals are permitted in accordance with applicable laws.
