Overview

The Trucking and Heavy Equipment Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy diesel trucks and heavy construction equipment. This role ensures all machinery operates safely and efficiently to support excavation, paving, concrete, and utility projects. The position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems on trucks and heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication of moving parts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems.
• Order and install replacement parts as needed.
• Work independently and manage time effectively to complete repairs promptly.
• Assist with emergency repairs and field service calls as required.
• Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
