Purpose:
Backfill for Ashley Bobo and Abigail Orozco
Summary:
The RN practices independently in a perinatal setting, providing routine and complex care, managing clinical contingencies, delegating appropriately, and supporting patient and family education.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation Administer medications/treatments per protocol and monitor effectiveness/side effects Document patient history, symptoms, and care given Assess patient/family learning needs and provide education Demonstrate OneCHRISTUS
Competencies:
Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders Licenses & Certifications
Required:
RN license in NM or compact BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) NRP AWHONN Intermediate FHM or C-EFM STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants)
Experience:
1+ year in perinatal or related nursing specialty preferred Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal practice preferred Orientation &
Competency:
New hire orientation within first 30 days Precepted by trained staff; organizational and perinatal competency validations required Annual competency verification completion Notes:
All newly hired experienced RNs must complete perinatal-specific training and validations Night shift assignment
