Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Full-time
Location: Alamogordo, NM
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited Nuclear Medicine program or equivalent.
Current American Heart – Heart Saver or Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians or Nuclear Medicine certification.
NM NMT License.
Ability to respond within 30 minutes when on call.
Knowledge and skills to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate to the age-specific and/or cultural diversity of the population served.
Ability to comply with unit and departmental scheduling guidelines, and to start shifts on time.
Ability to record patient-centered care information accurately, concisely, and legibly, and to maintain patient records.
Job Description
What you will be doing:
Preparing patients for scans of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information, utilizing radioactive pharmaceuticals with intravenous injection.
Operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment to acquire appropriate images.
Maintaining required core competencies and complying with set policies and procedures.
Checking patients' charts and transferring them to examining tables.
Recording information on patient care and examination, and maintaining records on scans and test results.
Preparing and labeling radiopharmaceuticals.
Surveying the Hot Lab and scan room for contamination daily.
Performing all daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual surveys and quality control.
Checking the emergency drug box in the Cardiopulmonary Nuclear Medicine department daily.
Coordinating the scheduling of patient exams, and ordering isotopes, pharmaceuticals, and other necessary supplies.
Performing other related responsibilities as assigned.
