Overview

Alameda is an island city of 78,000 located next to the city of Oakland and offers a full-service municipal recreation program. Neighborhood recreation programs are offered at ten locations throughout the city. Alameda’s Sports and Fitness Program provides year-round opportunities for residents of all ages to engage in active, healthy lifestyles through structured classes, leagues, and drop-in activities.

• Scorekeepers play an essential role in maintaining accurate records for Alameda's Adult Softball & Sports programs using score books and score clocks.
  Maintain accurate, complete game data and ensure timely entry and reporting where required.

• Experience and certification
  :
  Current certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR and a recent TB test prior to the beginning of the program or agree to obtain both as a condition of being hired. Must be 16 years or older. Volunteer or recreation experience desirable.

Selection process: To be considered, candidates must submit a completed City of Alameda Job Application form online. Applicants will be screened and evaluated based on the information provided. Federal law requires that, prior to employment, applicants must furnish proof of identity and eligibility for employment in the United States.

Fingerprinting requirement: California State Law requires that all recreation employees and volunteers having direct contact, supervisory or disciplinary authority over minors be fingerprinted as a condition of employment. Candidates given a conditional offer of employment will be referred for fingerprinting. Employment is conditioned upon fingerprint results.

Part-time positions with the City of Alameda may be eligible for limited benefits and are considered at-will. Work schedules vary but may not exceed 28 hours per week.

E-Verify: The City of Alameda utilizes the Federal government's E-Verify program and new employees must provide documentation to establish both identity and work authorization, which includes showing a valid United States Social Security card at the time of hire.
