Maintenance, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Waters Edge Lodge, a senior living facility located in Alameda, California, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair duties to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our facility.

Hourly position, working 4 days a week with a compensation rate of $21 to $25 per hour. Current scheduled days are Sunday-Wednesday. The individual will be paid biweekly.

• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify any maintenance or repair needs
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing (mostly replacing toilets and fixing leaking sinks), HVAC, and light electrical repairs
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Ensure the safety and security of the facility by identifying and addressing potential hazards
• Communicate regularly with the management team to provide updates on maintenance activities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field
• Skilled in multiple trades such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform manual labor
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Waters Edge Lodge is an assisted living facility with 101 apartments for frail elderly. Residents are permitted to have pets, so employees may be exposed to cats and/or dogs in the course of their work.
