Summary

The AHD Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment of speech therapy inpatients and outpatients. Performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Participates in in-service educational programs and performance improvement processes.

Communicates with family, case managers, health insurers, physicians, support staff, therapists, department managers, and other departments such as Radiology and Nursing.

Evaluates, develops treatment plans, and treats speech-language pathology patients.

Serves on hospital committees and represents the SLP Department in interdepartmental activities.

Oversees operational flow of the SLP Department, including supplies, staffing, scheduling, and organization of work processes.

Performs bedside swallow assessments and modified barium swallow assessments, communicating findings with nursing, physicians, patients, and families.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or program by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Experience: Entry level; recent clinical experience preferred in acute medical, rehab, SNF, or outpatient settings.
Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board or licensed applicant;
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA; BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Pay Range: $64.89/HR - $70.12HR

The final compensation depends on experience, education, licenses, certifications, and organizational needs. Alameda Health System offers a comprehensive benefits package.
