DESCRIPTIONABOUT THE ALAMEDA COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES:
The Alameda County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is located in the city of Dublin, serving a population of approximately 1.6 million residents across 14 incorporated cities, unincorporated areas, and multiple special districts. The OES plays a critical role as the Regional Mutual Aid Coordinator for California’s Region II, which includes 16 counties. This responsibility involves the coordination of intra- and inter-regional mutual aid during large-scale emergencies and disasters.
The Alameda County OES collaborates with the 14 cities—Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, and Union City—and numerous special districts to provide emergency management and disaster response services.
The OES operates out of a modern, state‑of‑the‑art facility shared with other key county agencies, enabling seamless collaboration.
The OES team is composed of highly trained professionals who specialize in emergency management, disaster response, and community preparedness.
The office coordinates closely with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as special districts, to ensure a unified response to crises, offering a comprehensive range of resources and expertise.
The Alameda County OES is operational 24/7.
POSITIONThe Emergency Services Coordinator II is the journey‑level classification in the Emergency Services Coordinator series. Under general supervision, the Emergency Services Coordinator II has responsibility for planning, organizing, and preparing emergency operations plans with supporting documents, and performs a variety of assignments related to emergency management activities, and performs related duties as required.

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and other recognitions. The Sheriff's Office has a current budget of approximately $600 million and has over 1,600 authorized positions.

- Operating the Coroner's Bureau
- Operating full‑service criminalistics laboratory
- Performing Civil Process
- Operating a County Jail (Santa Rita)
- Operating the County Office of Emergency Services
- Providing patrol and investigative services to the unincorporated areas of Alameda County
- Pursuant to contractual agreements, providing patrol and investigative services to the City of Dublin, Oakland International Airport, Highland County Hospital, Social Services, and the Alameda‑Contra‑Costa Transit District
- Conducting a basic academy pursuant to Police Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) requirements
- Providing Fish and Game enforcement
- Project Director of the Narcotics Task Force
- Serving as the Executive Director of the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Task Force
