Job Description & Duties
Under the general direction and supervision of a Supervising Workers' Compensation Consultant, the Workers' Compensation Assistant (WCA) will learn and perform analytical and technical tasks of average difficulty related to the Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) processes in order to meet the needs of the Medical Unit in an efficient and effective manner. The incumbent will review, analyze, and determine whether documents meet DIR's regulations in the appropriate manner.
This position also entails providing assistance to the public by phone via the virtual call center.

Working ConditionsThis position is located at: 1515 Clay St, Oakland, CA 94612. The incumbent will work 40 hours per week in an office setting equipped with standard office equipment. Air conditioned, in a high-rise building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Once formal training has concluded, part-time telework may be offered upon approval by the Medical Unit Manager and consistent with the Department of Industrial Relations Telework Policy.
