Location:Alachua, FL
Schedule: Sat + Mon-Wed 5a-3:30p
Job Summary:
Receivers work to receiving products as delivered, manually lifting and moving product cases using a variety of equipment and at different temperatures. G&C Foods employees work as a team to ensure accurate and efficient results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify product invoice(s) to ensure accuracy of delivery, sign off that product has been verified, or notate any discrepancies on the bill(s) and cover sheet before receiving
- Receive product as it is delivered, scan product using hand scanner efficiently and accurately
- Palletize product (stack on pallets) according to weight and product type if needed.
- Re-throw pallets when product is damaged if needed
- Breakdown and separate pallets when they are too high or of mixed product type if needed.
- Upon completion of the receiving process, the product shall be transported to the designated area(s)
- Operation of a powered industrial truck (PIT)
- Additional duties as assigned
- One year of warehouse experience in the food service distribution industry or related industry (2-3 years preferred)
- Experience in operation of Powered Industrial Equipment, including Riding Pallet Jack.
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively relating to the job and the safety regulations.
- Strong problem solving, organization and time management skills.
- Understand product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, motivation, and energy.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
- Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment.
