OR Registered Nurse | Alabaster, Alabama

A registered nurse with operating room expertise in neuro/spine surgery is needed to fill a contract position in Alabaster, AL. This role requires a commitment to a 4 x 10-hour shift schedule from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, offering 36 guaranteed hours weekly. Call duties are expected and vary by team assignment, to be discussed during the interview process.

Location:
Situated near Birmingham, AL, this opportunity is based in a well-equipped surgical environment with a 24-bed unit and a 1:1 patient ratio, delivering specialized neuro/spine operative care. The facility utilizes Cerner EMR systems and supports a diverse patient population undergoing surgery.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current RN license with 2+ years of operating room nursing experience
• Proven neuro/spine OR skillset
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Ability to float within a 25-mile radius of the home campus
• Preferred experience with Da Vinci Robot, Max Face procedures, and orthopedic surgery

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care for surgical patients specializing in neuro/spine cases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality surgical outcomes
• Adhere to hospital protocols, including infection control and patient safety measures
• Participate in call rotation as required by the team

• Operating room setting with navy scrubs required
• No T-shirts, fleece jackets, hoods, or nail polish permitted
