Heavy Equipment Mechanic Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and take charge of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment! This role isn't just essential—it's safety-sensitive, emphasizing the critical role you'll play in ensuring the well-being of our team and the public. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly and our equipment in top-notch condition, ensuring safety and efficiency every step of the way.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Pay Range
- $18-$20/hr
- Paid WEEKLY
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect trucks, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications.
- Operate equipment to diagnose defects.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and tools.
- Adhere to all company safety/OSHA rules and regulations.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Understanding of computer testing technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Physical Demands
- Ability to lift heavy machinery.
- Ability to work long hours.
- Exposed to temperature fluctuations, dust, and noise.
- Must be able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
- Must be able to crawl in small or tight places.
- Job requires bending, stooping, and carrying.
This role is classified as safety sensitive. Candidates must show the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Compliance with this requirement is a fundamental condition for employment.
