Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Direct Hire QA Lab Supervisor position at a chemical company located southeast of Lafayette LA. The overall responsibility of the role is to supervise the QA Lab Technicians and support the company’s Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the testing and releasing of product ensuring that the material meets quality standards in a timely manner
• Be proficient at running and maintaining laboratory instrumentation including particle size analyzer, surface area and porosity analyzer, TGA, and sulfur analyzer
• Evaluate Lab Technicians to ensure competency and compliance with quality standards
• Provide training to new Lab Technicians tracking their performance
• Provide back-up support for Quality Assurance staff when needed
• Oversee the calibration of laboratory equipment ensuring calibration records and control charts are maintained
• Ensure laboratory operations meet ISO, ASTM, HSE, and company standards
• Manage laboratory operations within the established budgetary guidelines
• Suggest solutions and oversee follow-through for quality issues
• Produce suggestions to improve lab’s performance and efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related field or equivalent applicable experience
• 2+ years of Lab Supervisory experience
• Experience performing lab tests and providing suggestions to maintain quality
• Experience troubleshooting and calibrating lab equipment
• Ability to plan, schedule, and organize workload
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Positive and professional attitude

This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a Monday through Friday, day shift work schedule. Pay rate is commensurate upon level of education and applicable experience. If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for immediate consideration.
