Quality Product Inspector – McCalla, AL

Job Summary: Plans and conducts activities concerning the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Know proper and improper use of PPE and equipment, ensuring personal safety and safety of others.
  • Follow Standardized Work Instructions.
  • Support teams in Operational improvement.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections.
  • Prepare reports communicating involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
  • Identify and solve machine malfunctions and quality problems of formed parts.
  • Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
  • Perform 5S activity in assigned area.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work unsupervised.
  • Work any scheduled shift as needed.
  • Support Operational Performance Metrics and meet targets for improvement.
  • Support annual operating plan.
  • Understand material flow and Supply Chain Management.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Record data as needed / assist in documenting standardized work.
  • Handle material as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Dependable and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Resistance Spot Welding and common welding defects.
  • Knowledge of Sheet Metal stamping and common stamping defects.
  • Ability to compare work against quality standards and distinguish acceptable from unacceptable tolerances.
  • Physical strength and stamina, standing up to 2 hrs at a time to perform computer functions, inspect component parts, label them, and crate them.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction in a moderate noise environment.
