An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with specialized experience in the Operating Room to work on a contract basis in Deatsville, AL. This role involves providing critical perioperative care across a wide spectrum of surgical specialties in a Level II Trauma Center with advanced services including a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center.
The position requires a well-rounded RN with strong expertise in Trauma (excluding burns), Neuro, Ortho (including total joint experience), Vascular (including endovascular), ENT, General surgery, Robotics for General and Neuro (preferably with experience on Mazor or DaVinci XI systems), Plastics, GYN, Urology, and related specialties. The nurse will serve as a circulator, ensuring patient safety and efficient surgical procedures, supported by a dedicated OR Assist and charge nursing staff.
Schedule & Shift
Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation with specific on-call responsibilities (Friday 3 p.m.
-7 a.m., Saturday and Sunday 24-hour shifts) - Shift start time: 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Friday through Sunday)
- No floating assignment
- Orientation includes a two-week day shift with buddy call
Experience:
- Minimum two years of perioperative nursing experience
- Strong case exposure in trauma, neuro, ortho, vascular, ENT, robotics, and other surgical specialties listed above
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Experience with EMR systems, particularly Cerner
- Ability to respond within 30 minutes for on-call duties
