A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Operating Room procedures to support a dynamic surgical team in Deatsville, AL. This contract position is ideal for nurses with comprehensive operating room experience spanning general surgery, trauma, orthopedics, neurology, ENT, vascular, and other specialized areas.
Responsibilities:
- Circulate in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and assisting surgeons across diverse case types including neuro, trauma (excluding burns), endovascular vascular, robotics-assisted procedures (Mazor and DaVinci XI preferred), orthopedics with total joint experience, gynecology, urology, plastics, and ophthalmology.
- Collaborate effectively with the Operating Room Assistants (ORA), charge nurses, and service line team leaders.
- Utilize advanced medical technology including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitoring systems.
- Participate in weekend rotations with scheduled on-call duties and comply with holiday shift expectations under defined contract terms.
- Engage in a structured orientation program lasting two weeks on day shift with supportive buddy call integration.
- 12-hour shifts, twelve shifts totaling 36 hours per week.
- Shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
- Weekend on-call coverage required alongside weekday on-call duty with a 30-minute response time.
- Active RN licensure.
- Minimum two years of operating room nursing experience, with strong proficiency across the specified surgical specialties.
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS.
- Prior robotics OR experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently without floating assignments.
