Overview
The RN-Weekend Baylor in Emergency Services plays a critical role in providing high-quality patient care during weekend shifts. This position is designed for registered nurses who are dedicated to delivering immediate and effective medical assistance in emergency situations. The primary goal is to ensure that patients receive timely interventions and support, contributing to their overall recovery and well-being. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs, implement care plans, and monitor progress.
Ultimately, this role is essential in maintaining the standards of care and ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
- BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire date.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an emergency services or critical care setting.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and responses to treatments in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in emergency response drills and maintain readiness for various medical emergencies.
- Strong clinical assessment abilities for evaluating patient conditions and determining interventions.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and educating patients and families.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in using medical technology and EHR systems to document and manage patient care.
- Leadership experience can contribute to mentoring junior staff and improving team dynamics in the emergency department.
